Oaklands Country Manor

The wedding venue

Oaklands was founded in 1860 by Bob Hall, an English millionaire who acquired the property as a gift for his wife. Initially run as a game farm, Oaklands took its name from an Oak forest that was planted nearby to supply duiselbooms - the long poles that hitched oxen to their wagons. The property has since been owned and managed by a string of colourful characters including a clairvoyant who is said to have hosted séances on hotel's upper floors, and a South African provincial cricket captain.

Venture out of the city and into our countryside retreat, where scenic surroundings, excellent facilities and friendly, efficient service combine to create a welcoming atmosphere which sets the scene for a good time. Oaklands Country Manor's service offering is uniquely tailored to suit each guest, and it is this which sets us apart as the perfect venue for a memorable occasion

At Oaklands Country Manor in KwaZulu Natal we specialise in intimate country style weddings, each one personalised to create a uniquely magical day for the couple and their guests. The venue is exclusively reserved for the wedding party, ensuring that no effort is spared in coordinating the day the couple will always remember.

Royal wedding venues

Whenever you would like to espouse as though you are a king, then a royal wedding theme would be the best for you. This unusual idea established wedding takes place in a castle like setting. A few of the commonest finishes for these majestic weddings are found here in South Africa. Everything right from the rugs to the food that is dished out to the invitees accepts a substance of majesty. Exceptional consideration is given to what the bride and groom put on and the invitees too are called for to dress majestically.

Attractiveness to the present moment and an enchantment in the sensations is what we undergo in this moment. An Individual who is driven, task-consumed, all of the time in the time to come and never in the present has no imports and, thus, no romanticism. Romanticism is about a look in the eyes, about the contact of skin, about the scent of hair just rinsed, about a cushy air and a full phase of the moon. It’s about the body, the sensations and standing calm and giving up yourself to be propelled. Romance takes time and attention. Stop. Be still. Get out of your head. Go to your body and your senses. Allow experience. These are the directions that point to romance at a royal wedding.

When I think of Royal Weddings, I think magical wands, twinkling stars and bubbles. Most Royal Weddings are established on Majestic stories or Hollywood movies. Royal Wedding Themes are often purple, but you can create your own royal theme with whatsoever colours that suit you. For centrepiece themes, you are able to try gold or silver flower vases full of Fairy Tale Magic Wands. Decorate your reception with pastel-coloured tulle, satin ribbons and bows, bells, red roses, pumpkins, coaches, and of course a red carpet. Or other decor ideas, why not have ice sculptures that depict a glass slipper, a castle or a horse carriage. And whether you pick out live performing artists or a DJ, go for music that corresponds to your wedding theme, like sound tracks from Michael Bolton or Beauty and the Beast or classical harp or piano music.
