Prior to putting a deposit on any potential venue, you should always ask questions, and if necessary get them to put it in writing. Here are some questions you might like to ask when visiting a possible venue. Most important - is there a cost for hiring the venue (most make a charge for hiring the facility)

Is there a set-up and break-down fee? Do you have availability on our preferred wedding dates?

Will we have exclusive use of the venue or are there other weddings taking place?

Do you have standard wedding packages and what is included?

What deposit is required and what is the cancellation notices, what’s the arrangement for greeting guests are as they arrive. How many weddings do they hold at this location each year? Are there any special events going at the venue that weekend or in the immediate surrounding area? For how long will you get the venue on the wedding day? What is the capacity for the venue? Do they have a minimum/maximum number of guests for the day/month that you are interested in? Some wedding venues set a lower limit number of invitees. So if you’re planning a comfortable forty invitee reception you may not be able to do this without being charged for the minimum number of guests, which may be set at a hundred.

What is included in their Wedding packages? Is there complimentary accommodation for the bride and groom? Is there any reduction for wedding guest’s accommodation?
